Stories
Real experiences from real people.
Everyone's experience with sound healing is different. Some feel deep relaxation. Others release emotion they've been holding. Some simply enjoy a peaceful hour away from the noise of daily life.
Here's what people have shared with us.
"The sound bath at Levy Park with Texas Sound is truly magical. The atmosphere is welcoming, peaceful, and beautifully set in nature, which makes it the perfect escape from the stress of everyday life. They create such a calming and intentional experience. You can really feel the care they put into guiding the session. I always leave feeling deeply relaxed, recharged, and lighter in both body and mind. 10/10 recommend."
"What a gift to have encountered such a compassionate soul. She set me at ease in such a nonjudgmental and open way; I felt safe to be vulnerable, which allowed me to really see myself in a way that helped me figure out where I was stuck. Saved me years of therapy, time, and money. Thank you so much, Melissa. You are a blessing to the earth."
"I'm new to meditation and was nervous at first, but this felt easy and welcoming. Nothing intimidating or woo-woo. The science behind sound was explained simply, which helped me relax into it. I left feeling grounded and surprisingly calm."
"Best relaxed and chilled down to earth sound bath in Houston. Really normal staff, easy to talk to and coordinate. Sound was powerfully."
"I've been meditating long enough to know outwardly silence isn't always the goal. Practicing in a public park, with birds, traffic, people passing by, felt intentional. The sound bath didn't try to overpower the environment, it worked with it. The tones gave my attention something steady to return to. I left feeling centered, calm, and quietly confident in my practice."
"Amazing experience with Music Medicine. 1:1 session with owner. The tranquility of the bowls helped calm my nervous system with the therapeutic frequencies, which helped facilitate healing of my body."
A Shared Moment in the Park
After one of our evening sound baths, something unexpected happened. As people slowly opened their eyes, a few began comparing notes. One guest described seeing subtle bands of color radiating from everything around him. His friend saw rainbows stretching across the sky. Another noticed flashes of color even with eyes closed.
Others spoke about something quieter but just as striking. A gentle breeze moved through the park, steady and cool, blending seamlessly with the sound. One attendee shared that it reminded him of mountain air back in Colorado—calm, spacious, and grounding. For a moment, Houston felt like home in a new way.
These experiences weren't forced or explained away. They simply happened, differently for each person. The sound didn't overpower the environment. It worked with it, allowing nature, sensation, and awareness to meet naturally.
It's moments like these that remind us why practicing in public spaces matters. Real life doesn't happen in silence. And sometimes, clarity arrives not by escaping the world, but by settling fully into it.
